Harvard Business Review have a piece which looked into what people get from being in a cowering space. In three short points:
- People who use coworking spaces see their work as meaningful.
- They have more job control.
- They feel part of a community.

Some time ago the NY Times ran a piece giving some history on the idea of the lone wolf, and where the idea came from that they are the ones who makes the big steps for humanity. Rather, it seems that it is groups of people working together which make the big leaps.
Of course, thats not to say some people don't have individual ideas that push humanity forward by a truely great amount, but it is the exception, not the rule.
